Destiny St. George is a private investigator with an interesting group of friends and clientele. She may not have the most organized office but she definitely knows what she can and will do to solve a case. She knows that while she isn't interested in just being another number with the local vampire king Marcus, she will approach him if she thinks he can help with a case she has.Now, while she is dealing with a past lover who would love nothing more than to have her back in his life, her best friend has decided she should try one of her kind at least. To help complicate matters, enter a good looking male lion that has come to her best friend's wedding.
Now suddenly Destiny is trying to prep for her best friend's wedding, working with a man she is trying to remember all the reasons she stopped seeing him, and solve a mystery that seems to be getting more dangerous by the minute. What starts out as a mystery turns into an elaborate trap that is the result of a millennia old grudge and will this lioness get out alive?
What's a shape shifting lioness to do when she knows the one person who can help her in her latest investigation is the one man who seems to never be far out of her thoughts? Ms. Chambers has an interesting array of characters in Blood and Destiny. She was able to take a slightly different approach on relationships with vampires than most of the authors out today, which is fun. I thoroughly enjoyed Blood and Destiny and look forward to the next book in the series.

The characters are well thought out, and the plot is perfect!!! A great start to what I'm sure will be a fabulous series.

Destiny St. George is a private investigator, and a good one. She also happens to be a lioness shifter, which can be a help in her profession. When a man comes to her for help finding his missing wife, she is drawn into a world she knows all to well the vampire community. It seems that the wife disappeared with a man claiming to be a vampire. This means Destiny will have to work with her former lover, Marcus Smythe, owner of the vampire club the wife frequented before she vanished. Can Destiny keep things from heating up between Marcus and her? Does she want to? And what about the mysterious lion shifter in town for her best friend's wedding? Who is behind all of the mysterious happenings, and what is the real agenda?
Kaye Chambers write such strong female characters. Despite growing up with no family, Destiny knows who and what she is. She takes nonsense from no one, and refuses to compromise her principles for anyone. She breaks off her relationship with Marcus rather than be one of many. When she realizes she has to ask Marcus for help, she strikes up a truce, and maintains her stance that they are no longer a couple.
Like all vampires, Marcus is handsome, self assured and oh so sexy. He is determined to win Destiny back to his side, and is determined to find a compromise they can both live with. Into this mix comes Luke, a lion from out of town. Luke is handsome,sexy and appears interested in Destiny.
But this is a story of mysteries and hidden agendas, and not everything is what, or who, it appears to be. I like that in a story, the unpredictable outcome. Kaye Chambers has written a thriller, with secrets and twists to treat the best mystery lover in all of us.
I like Destiny, and I admit I was rooting for Marcus to win her back throughout the story. Is there a happy ever after for Destiny and Marcus? You will have to read this marvelous story to find out.
