Her Cyborg Awakes Diaspora Worlds Book 1 eBook Melisse Aires

Sabralia, a queen from another planet, is an unhappy prisoner in a harem, given at age 16 to her cold, selfish husband, Sirn in a treaty between their two worlds. Only her cyborg, Qy, helps ease her isolation. When Sirn throws a party at the palace for his troops, the women of the harem are to be offered as "entertainment" to the officers. Sabralia steals away down the beach, hoping to avoid the inevitable rape by the soldiers. Qy travels repeatedly to the palace to bring back food and supplies. When the palace is attacked, Sabralia and Qy hide in a cave. After two days without his daily reprogramming, Qy regains his memories and becomes conscious of who he really is -- Kaistil, a soldier from a different planet who had been captured by Sirn's forces and mechanized as a cyborg, but Kaistril is nothing like Qy. When it becomes evident that a massacre is occurring at the palace, Kaistril/Qy engineers their escape in a stolen spaceship. And therein begins their adventure, and what an adventure it is.

The characters are very likable. I absolutely adored the passionate hero, Qy/Kaistril. He is very masculine, confident and take-charge, but also very protective and reassuring. Sabralia, having been confined to the palace, is less experienced, but she's also brave, caring, and willing to take risks to ensure their safety.

This book made me realize that good romantic erotica has, in addition to an entertaining story, desire, seduction, anticipation, excitement, and intense chemistry, and is not just a string of escalating kinky sex acts strung together. The things Kaistril says to Sabralia to seduce her are really hot.

The story is, IMO, original, without the lazy "destiny" and magical powers plot devices of too many romances in this genre. Kaistril and Sabralia had to struggle and think on their feet, which makes for good character development. And the story is so engrossing, the romance so passionate, that I could easily overlook the few vagaries and minor grammatical errors in the story.

Her Cyborg Awakes Diaspora Worlds Book 1 eBook Melisse Aires Reviews

This was the first Melisse Aires book that I have read. It was good, and I'd recommend it. It kept my attention, I read it in almost one sitting because it was a fun read. There were some predictable parts, but after having read so many books for so many years, it's difficult to find one that ISN'T a bit predictable. I'm going to read more from Ms. Aires. Nicely done.
I received an advance copy this book this is my volunteer review and my opinion.

This Book was awesome the storytelling was so in-depth it was epic if it was a movie it would be better than Star Wars. I'm hoping there's a part two to this the find out if sun is actually alive and looking for her. This book left me with some questions one is CERN still alive two is CERN cyborg also. My third question who caused the uprising? Other than those questions I highly recommend this book you would be thoroughly entertained
This is one of the most memorable romances I've read (and I'm a huge romance fan). I don't usually read sci-fi or futuristic romance, so it is also an unusual setting for me. I liked how Sabralia, who was wed at 16 and has little practical life skills, slowly comes into her own and develops in the course of the book, to the point that she is able to be a true partner to her cyborg while they're on the run. I also liked that the author didn't make it all about the chemistry or bedroom scenes, but about the connection between the two main characters. I've re-read this book three times -- yes, I like it that much! I think what I like most about it is that Sabralia is not rescued by Qy; they rescue each other.
This book delivered what I was looking for, a quick read with a bit of romance, and a dash of adventure. I think based on the description I was expecting something a bit different in the beginning, and for a little while as I was reading I was wondering just how things were going to unfold to fit with the book description (though I often feel that way), then suddenly the adventure began in earnest, and as things played out I was kinda laughing at myself as I realized the author had played fair, the Cyborg had indeed Awakened and the proverbial game was afoot and wow oh wow was our little Queen getting more than she bargained for!

Having read quite a few Cyborg books by other authors may have falsely set my expectations... sometimes I need to remind myself each author gets to set their own rules -- and once I remembered that, and discovered what Ms. Aires had in store for her readers, and characters, I found I really was enjoying the trials and travails she had put her poor characters through. As I so often find myself thinking, "oh am I glad I'm not a character in this author's universe!"

A fun one night read that had me quickly checking my e-reader to see if I have the next book in the series as I want to see where things are going, while it was, technically, a done-in-one, I most definitely wanted more, and would have been happier with more here.
This was a different take on Cyborg romance. I enjoyed the surprises relating to the story around the cyborgs.

I also enjoyed the strength of Sabralia. It took a lot of strength for her to accept and then endure her situation. It also took strength and courage for her to follow up and take the actions which ultimately lead her to happiness. She seemed to have a never ending series of obstacles to overcome on her way to happiness, yet she was able to find ways to overcome them.

I don't want to give away the story, so I won't get into the surprises relating to the cyborgs. I did, however, enjoy the twists and they added to my enjoyment of the story.

The story itself was much like many sci-fi romance stories. There were obstacles to overcome, things to learn and understand, and unexpected issues caused by family. The story itself was interesting, but at times I did have to make a bigger leap of faith than usual.

Overall, if your into sci-fi romance and cyborgs, I recommend the story.

Thanks,
PJ
