Not kindle unlimited, remember getting them all as a freebie pack a while back, says 4 book series so assume the christmas one is 5, since my vision issues are not dyslexia etc can't say much about that, and it being children's book the formatting and spacking seems decent/good, but the legally blind thing eh not so much {and can't enlarge smaller text because just doesn't work with the size needed} but did switch {chromebook} from readium {reader} to Simple Epub Reader and put that on audio so was able to 'read' the books. Sometimes, either way, the 'rhymes' didn't quite work but doubtful a kid would notice.

Can P.I. discover the identity of the Bell Tower Bandit? When some bird sabotages the beautiful tower bells, P.I. Penguin is called in to help solve the case.

Join P.I. Penguin as he solves crimes and mysteries for his animal friends while trying to discover the truth of the mystery that set him on his path, that of his missing parents.

Aulexic titles are all carefully crafted to encourage language and literacy learning. Each story is rich with rhyme and rhythm, vivid concrete words, vibrant images, and dyslexia-friendly text and formatting. We focus on creating engaging stories to inspire even the most resistant readers.

PI Penguin and the Case of the Bell Tower Bandit edition by Bec J Smith Adit Galih Children eBooks Reviews

The rhymes are very addictive and flow so nicely. This is our 3rd in the series and comes with a twist, looks like we will want to add more to our list. We love a good mystery and trying to figure it out before we are told in the story. You've just got to love a bird with a name tag on too. Very cute.
P.I. Penguin is back on a whole new case.

This particular one was a little confusing. There’s a bandit in the bell tower. What was he stealing though? Was he just trespassing? What was the crime? Did the bandit just disengage the bells? Not the world’s worst crime.

The pace in the story was a little bit slower than the previous. But again, readers will be regaled with fun rhymes and colorful illustrations.

This book was read in our house with a 6 and 8 year old. My six year old is just learning to read and she is able to sound out these words without feeling too intimidated. She loves the animation of the images and the cuteness of the characters.

My eight year old is loving the lessons of this series as each one has a new thing to be learned. What he is sad about is the lack of "family" that this penguin has. Each book starts with him missing his family and ends in the same place, a mystery solved yet another one still lurking.

Great series so far.

This is the third book in the series of P.I. Penguin. I am not a child but I just love these books by Bec. J. Smith, with the great and colourful Illustrations by Adid Galih.

As P.I. Penguin mused about his parents, his phone rang. Pete needs his help to stop a criminal's hot streak. Eager to help, P.I sets out and crosses the water where jellyfish braved in the river, to meet his friend. At the tower he spots a stranger peering down like a spy from atop the tower. The guarding swans bring him up in the elevator, where Pete lives.

Will P.I. Penguin find the responsible for the false music from the bells? Of course he will.

Now, standing atop the tower, he looks out, wondering about his parents again, when he spots an obelisk in the far distance.
What could I see from there?

A brilliant book for children
For a reason we do not know, P.I.'s Aunt Beth is raising P.I.'s brother, Kyle. Kyle was the subject of Book 2 when he went missing and it was only after P.I. found him that he learned that Kyle was his brother. Their parents have disappeared and P.I. is naturally upset, wondering what has happened to them. It appears that Detective Pete (pigeon) requires P.I.'s help in this, the third book in the series.

Have to admit I couldn't get into this book at all. Rather silly and we still don't know what has happened to P.I.'s parents three books in! A little disappointing. Kids don't have a huge concentration span but they do have big hearts. Yes, this is only a story, but many of them are going to be worried wondering what has happened to P.I.'s parents. Definitely depressing.

Written in the Dyslexie specialty font the letters are weighted/thicker at the bottom helping those with reading issues be able to discern which letter is which that bit easier. This is NOT your typical rhyming book as in poetry/verse style. The writing in this book consists of paragraphs that rhyme, some of which flow better than others! The sentence structure is also not the best, for example
"Indeed it's not," agreed the bird, "it is worst that I have heard."

Important to note that this series is titled "Read Together". Slated for ages 4-12, even many 6 year old will not be able to read this book. It is WAY too difficult unless you have a gifted child/ exceptional reader. This story is designed to challenge a youngster's vocabulary whilst reading and enjoying a book together. I would say 12 was WAY too old for this book depending on your child's reading ability. 9 years might be a better "top" age. At the beginning of the book there is a glossary of the "tricky" words found in the text with the page number beside each one. In this book, those "tricky" words are
steeple * spry * tec * wily * discordant * plight * throng * pew * obelisk

Book is written by an Australia author. The illustrations are SUPERB, appealing to all ages. Important to note that this book is NOT suitable for all s so if you are purchasing for your electronic device please check the listing to determine if this book is suitable for your device thus preventing any disappointment. My review is on the high quality paperback version which was sent to be by the author in exchange for an honest review. Would I recommend this series? Yes and no. I think the characters are absolutely adorable but the rhyme is a little 'heavy' at times. After three depressing books, do I really want to read on to see what happens?! Thanks, Liz
